I’ve only ever had tube TVs, but I’m now ready to join the 21st century and get a flat screen.

Any tips to get the best value? What model do you have and how has it been for you?

It’s just for my bedroom, so I’m thinking an LCD between 26-32 inches.

What brands are best? What brands should I stay away from? I started looking at Target and Walmart, but a lot of those I haven’t even heard of! When buying a name brand are you really just paying for that name or are they truly better?

I want to spend less than $500. Thanks for any tips!

I’m trying to decide whether to buy a samsung or sony lcd television. I will probably wait at least a couple of weeks to buy, or at least until I receive my tax refund. Based on reviews for a 26 inch lcd tv (since the tv will go in my bedroom) I have narrowed it down to those 2 manufacturers. Does anyone have any suggestions, even if it is not samsung or sony? Also, where should I buy the TV, a chain place like best buy/circuit city, or a local electronics place? Finally, should I go ahead and buy one within the next couple of weeks, or wait whenever TVs will go down in price? Thanks for answering.

I don’t really understand about LCDs. I’m buying a 26” or 32” inch LCD. But I have so many options. What information do I have to look at? Any particular brand? Any model? Specific information? Some advice please. Thanks

I cant decide if I should get a 32 or 37 inch 1080p lcd tv in my 2nd bedroom where I watch most of my which is not a large room. Sitting on the couch the maxium distance I can sit from the tv screen is 7 feet 4 inches and if lean foward I am only 7 feet away. Right now I have a old 27inch crt tv which was the perfect size. Please advise what I should do. At best buy the 32 inch looked a little small, but the 37 inch was more compfortable at 8 to 8.5 feet than 7 feet away.
