can you create polarized stereoscopic images with photoshop?

After reading another thread, I’ve come to understand that it takes projectors with special polarized filters to project the image you see in the theater that you can watch with polarized glasses (the ones with normal-looking untinted lenses) as well as a special screen that can reflect that light without losing polarization.

My question is this: Is there a way you can simulate the polarization’s effects using Photoshop’s custom filters? When you look at the screen without the glasses, it just looks like two copies of the same image projected at slightly different angles. Now I know there’s polarization of the light in the images and that’s what makes it look 3D, but if they can put those filters into projectors, can’t they use the same filters in image-editing software like Photoshop? (Projectors and monitors both use RGB additive light)

The filters on a projector are *physical*. The filters in Photoshop are *digital*.

For all the powerful tools in Photoshop, it simply cannot bend light. At its heart, it is just a program for manipulating data.
