Sansui Lcd Tv
What is the relationship contarst LCD TV media?
I'm considering buying a 32 "Sansui LCD TV that has a ratio of 50000:1 contarast. What does that mean? Is it enough for normal TV viewing. I will use it with Airtel DTH.
Contrast ratio is the difference between light and dark on a screen, expressed by a number. If you take on a bright white screen, and the darkest black and compare the luminosity relation is obtained contrast. For example, a 1000:1 contrast ratio means that the brightest white is 1000 times brighter than the darkest black. Is higher always better? That's the idea, however, there are cases when even a high contrast ratio can look very bad. In a poorly constructed set of plasma, for example, blacks are usually only dark gray due to the inherent in plasma technology (plasma maintains a minimum load for each cell plasma gas, and usually emits a small amount of In light of the cell when the TV is on). On the other hand, an image of the plasma is very bright (again, thanks to technology), so that the contrast ratio remains high. This does not mean that the plasmas are "bad" – When you're watching a plasma, the colors brighter than the dark "look" much darker. Consider a movie theater – the screen is silver or white broken … but looks black when playing the movie, and since black is a color cast (Which is the absence of any color cast), the "black" you see is still white or silver – it's just that the eye is not recognized because the other colors in the screen are so bright. At the other end thereof, may be a set that has a very dark black, and not so bright white – the contrast ratio may be high, but brighter white in this set may not match the brightest white in the other series … although the overall contrast ratio could be better. In a projector high / system, the darkest black can be immeasurable, creating an infinite contrast ratio (think of it as an attempt to divide by 0 and its relationship – 10,000:0 no sense). Consider this and – the amount of ambient light and reflected light in a room will change the perceived contrast ratio in a set – in a sunny room mate with a large screen, the screen will reflect sunlight, thus making the "darkest black, a bright gray, and at both the contrast ratio is significantly reduced. Obviously, the manufacturers do not take into account – the manufacturer's specifications are of the TV in an ideal environment (chamber dark) and measure only the light produced by the screen, not the "real world" reflects light (sunlight, overhead light, ambient light). In summary – Higher is better, most of the time, but if you're buying a TV, bring a favorite DVD or two with light and dark scenes and see how it looks like you – without having account numbers, specs, and what anyone says about a picture, everyone has a different perception of what a "good image" is. All that matters is that you are happy with it. Also, keep in mind that most shops tummy TVs around the corner, in a tenuous, and hit the maximum level difference to saturate the image and make it look "brighter." Brighter is not always better! Remember that the set you are collecting in your home, and most likely going into a room that will have some sunlight and interior light reflection! Good luck!
