My samsung tv broke can you help me fix it.?

My samsung 42 inch plasma recently broke the other day when the electricity went out. It was connected to a surge protector and now when i turn it on it turns right back off then back on ect. I took it the other day to a repair shop and they told me that I needed a new system control. I have no idea of what that is and i can not find it anywhere on the internet. Im trying to find one for sale somewhere so I dont have to pay the shop more then the tv is worth. It would be great if you can help me find one or even let me know what it is and how much a new one usually costs. Thanks
Its about 4 years old the model number is sp-s4243 so the system control is the power board?

I could diagnose this in less than 30 minutes if I could put my hands on it. Your storm description hardly matches the symptom you describe. The relay cycling on these is generally a symptom of a bad Y-sustain, but if it were truly damaged during a surge than I’d assume a power supply or digital main circuit board assy. All three are availble and retail for around and under $200. you could probably get a local shop to fix it for around $350-$400 if you take it in–problem is–you can replace it for a little more with a better quality new set.

BTW–thanks for putting in the model number—so many people don’t/won’t get an answer because they don’t include the model number.
