I just bought a new 32 inch RCA HDTV LCD tv and i hooked it directly up to my comcast digital cable box, but?

the picture doesnt seem like it is as clear as it should be, its not really bad, but i expected it to be better. is there something i am missing? or anything i can do to improve the picture quality?

i forgot to add, i do not know much about this kind of stuff, so maybe be specific for me :]
I have also noticed, the sound cuts out a little as well, I’m not sure if this has anything to do with it. And if not, how can I fix this?

To get the most out of your new TV, you will need to make sure you have:
1) HD capable cable box
2) HD programming package active on your Comcast account
3) Component video or HDMI port (and matching cable) on your cable box to get the HD signals to your TV

Comcast can tell you if you have the right box and HD active on your service. As to hooking up the box, HDMI is best, but component will work too for 1080i. You may also have to adjust the settings of your cable box to enable HD output. Comcast can help with this as well.

Know that when you watch an SD channel on your new TV, it will not look a good as it did on an older SD set. This is because the TV is upconverting the SD signal to display it at the TV’s resolution. Most TVs do a very poor job of upconversion, so the picture will appear fuzzy at best. HD channels on the other hand, will look stunningly good once you get the box hooked up properly. You can hit the Menu button on your Comcast remote to get to the HD tool and isolate the HD listings.
