Plasma 720p or LCD 1080p?
Im thinking about upgrading my Samsung 26 inch LCD HDTV. I like the picture of plasma tv’s better than LCD. But still which is better? A plasma screen with lower resolution, or an LCD tv with better resolution. BTW, it would be about 40 inches.
Also, My price range was like $599. I was checking out this one, http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9235259&type=product&id=1218064392359

Plasmas are better for those who watch a lot of sports and movies because they are much better clearing up fast motion scenes than any other brand. LCDs on the other hand are more popular with gamers because it really makes the graphics look top notch( people complain about playing video games on plasmas because it makes the colors look “cartoony”). I personally prefer LCDs because they last much longer( http://www.lcdtvbuyingguide.com/lcdtv/lcdtv-lifetime.shtml) than other brands and use about 40% less energy than plasmas. Well thats that and I hoped I helped!
Why wouldn’t you get a 1080p plasma? They’re still lower priced than a good 1080p LCD, you know.
Try the TCP42S1.
*edit per post above*
Some LCD tvs use more energy than a plasma. Modern plasma televisions are not the energy hogs they once were. Also rated lifespan on the tvs is roughly equal, and since the rating for a plasma is a half-life it means that plasma televisions are likely to last longer than lcd televisions, not the other way around.
If you want good picture quality plasma is better for you.Samsung is good choice and Panasonic is another top brand for plasma
