I have two 26 inch lcd tvs with 800:1 and one 32 inch plasma 30000:1 and I still can not tell the different in the picture clarity. Of course there is a different in angle viewing ie from the side. The plasma is much better. I feel also that picture adjustment on colors might be better. HD viewing could be slightly better. But I would still buy the 800:1 sets. I have viewed the sets at the store, then when I get home the picture looks different. Have done research online and still confused.
No its entry level,ie argos do a 19 inch HD TV with DVD and DVB (Freeview) buit in at 164.98 with a contrast ratio of 850:1,it’s a bedroom telly and bedroom contrast ratio for watching bright pictures and close eyes for blacks lol ,Rick
For that size of TV, that is not bad at all. Contrast ratio is very hard to see even with the biggest and “best” TVs. So, I wouldn’t make that spec a top priority.
