playing 3d movies at home?

I know that they use polarized Projectors and glasses for 3d movies. but if you watch them without the glasses you see some opaque images. my question is that if i play the same opaque movie on my pc and use polarized glasses, will it have the same result?

No, because the monitor you will be watching on has no polarizing filter of its own. In order to achieve the 3D effect you need to have a polarizer both on the viewer and the source. In the theater the projection is polarized, but at home your screen is not. There are monitors in the works that can display 3D images, but they are not yet available to consumers.
