Should I get a 3DTV yet or wait?

So I’m not sure if I should get a 3DTV or not. I want to get a PS3 but I am not sure if it will be ok to play it on a Plasma TV. My family’s Plasma is made by Panasonic and we got it in October 2008. The quality of it is very good. I have played Xbox 360 and Wii on it but have never experienced any such burn in. After minutes or even hours of TV or gaming there are sometimes these faded ghost images but they just slowly fade away. I don’t think that it would be burn in or anything but just something normal. I could get a smaller led or wait and ask for a 3DTV. What do you recommend?

Move on from Plasma because they do tend to have burn in. LED is a solid technology, they have it right, its a matter if you want to make the spend. As a rule, a year later the same marvelous new thing is a lot less. I would caution making a decision on 3D TV for the time being, it is a more tricky proposition to live with, due to the technology and repair. Don’t get me wrong, it works fine, the question is if it fails, who fixes it? Who has the parts? How much of a pain for shipping or returns? The volume is not enough for customer convenience, right now they are looking for a few brave souls. Its one of those things, you take a 3D tv back to the store, and the sales clerk in return, pauses and says…you have the 3D, well…you will have to do XYZ. Their winded advice sounds like the teacher when Charlie Brown is in class, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH and you are left feeling like Lucy moved the football once more when you try to kick the football though the upright. I would wait on that one.
