My Bloody Valentine 3D DVD movie – can you use any type of 3D glasses?

I just bought the movie and wondered do you have to use the red and green type of glasses like the cardboard ones provided or can you use ones like the polarised ones like these:

im just kinda disappointed that its not as good as at the cinema where you got those normal polarised glasses instead of the rubbish red and green cardboard things!

any help would be appreciated coz jensen ackles is hot in 3D and i want him in my living room!

In a 3d movie there are double images of everything and one image is for the right eye and the other for the left eye. In theaters they use a special projector that has one light wave for one image and a different light wave for the other image, which they call polarized light and in turn polarized 3d. Then one lens will block the one light wave so it can’t get to your eye but the other one can.

Now when they make tv’s they were not made to put out 2 different light waves, all the pixels can only do one light wave, so your polarized glasses from the theater will not work. For tv they have to resort to the red and blue for each image because all you need to get that 3d to work is color. The lenses use color to block and unblock images.

Also you can have different polarized light waves so one pair of 3d glasses for one movie at the theater may not work for another 3d movie because they use a slightly different polarized light wave.

Now you can do 3d for television that looks just like polarized 3d and for that you need shutter glasses that use electricity. One lens will open while the other lens closes and they do this back a forth really fast. Then the image for the right eye will flash on the screen when the right eye lens opens. I have been to an Imax theater that uses this 3d format. Your video must also be in this format for it to work.
