How do I connect my Samsong 50″ LCD TV to my Samsung Blu-Ray player?

I bought both and I would much rather listen to the surround sound speakers then the tv speakers. I have an HDMI cable but I can’t seem to figure out how to make the audio go to the surround sound speakers.

The HDMI connection is only for sending material to the TV. Unless there is also an audio output, you’re out of luck. I had to open up the back of my TV and connect wires to the speakers to get an audio output.
