I need some help getting the best picture in the new projection TV?

I just bought a new Hitachi 51 "projection HDTV capable TV Widescreen (Model: 51F59) can anyone help me with the picture settings (brightness, contrast, etc..) for the best picture of it. Also now I've connected from the cable box with S-Video cables and the picture looks very grainy. Does this have anything to do with the picture settings, the cable box (I'm getting a HD DVR box for cable delivered tomorrow), or just the TV itself?

You are lucky that I have recently bought this same group and did a great research. First lets answer your second question. You need to connect your DVR box with component cables (red, green, blue) minimum to get a decent picture, this is a must and not open to debate. HDMI will work as well, but I would stay with the component, if possible due to problems with the HDMI handshake issues between certain devices. OK, now on your own. These are not mine for the creation, but are collected during my research on the AVS Forum and put togeather by Lee Bailey, another F59 owner of the use of light meters and records to make an image calibtration absoulutly amazing settings considered the best by most of those who have used them. Connect the component cables for Gate 3 and go to the menu. Ready sharpness – contrast 15% – 25% brightness – 63% Color – 45% Tint – Three clicks left of center Temp – Standard Improvements All out (this includes audio accessories), since only add 'unnessesary "Noise to the image. Now in the service menu, access to the TV without a ticket out of leaving a black screen. Click on the TV menu, the menu and 8 on the remote control menu appears. Go to the category called TA1360 and enter, then change the next, but be sure to write the configuration Factory original down for referance, better safe than sorry you know -. ColorG STATG2 01 to 02 APRTR-NTSC – 00 APRTR-SDTV – 00 SRTGA – 00 should provide the best image atttainable, although slight twists to any of the regular menu adjustments may be necessary to adapt to his room because of lighting and personal taste. In addition, these systems require a "break in" period of about 100 hours to allow the guns CRT projectors and all other components installed in what will be pleasantly surprised to see the image better with each passing day. It is after the 100 hours you want to make the focal point of 117 as shown in the back of your owner's manual, as this tune the system for optimal viewing. There are tricks to further enhance the image, but these are only if you want to embarrass all his friends who dropped a lot of money in plasma, LCD or DLP sets. Trust me, after 100 hours tweeking this series offer an image unattainable by any set of facts to reach $ 4000. For that money you can put a F59 in every room of the house including the bathroom! You might want to check out the threads on the AVS forum as these provide information about the questions that I have yet to even think, just take a look around the section of rear projection and I find a great deal of information, especially as the thread 57F59A 51, 57 and 65 all use the same system so that the settings are interchangeable between them.
