What is the difference between plasma and LCD flat screen TV?

I'm thinking of buying from 40 to 50 inch widescreen television flat screen and want to know the following differences between plasma and LCD: cost-performance (longevity, clarity, gaming hook ups) records (shown last) weight (is able to hang on the wall with heavy damage), the best brands for plasma and LCD stores with the best deals, I recommend getting the extended warranty, I recommend getting the set up (I think it's a scam, but I know how easy each of them to create and hang on the wall) better for games. I will be using the TV for playing and watching sports and I'm looking for something that shows the details. I would also like something that would last longer and I'll be spending much money on it. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

LCD TVs use an LCD panel to create the image. It's the same technology found in LCD display laptops and digital cameras. Plasma TVs use gas suspended within glass panels and stimulated by an electric field to create the image. Each technology has its advantages. Plasmas tend to have a better picture than LCD TVs, while LCD televisions promise better long-term reliability and freedom from screen burn-in concerns. LCD is available in sizes small as 15 inches and up from there, while plasma sets start over 30 inches in size. LCD tends to be more expensive than plasma TVs of the same. If size I would buy one for me, I leaned toward the plasma of the highest quality image – the new Panasonics are especially good. In LCD TVs from Sony, Sharp and Toshiba are all very good, as is Samsung – Business. Buyers should check out the sets Westinghouse LCD has an excellent and images are of great value to the question. a standard price of HDTV has been in force in the Together for years.
