TV Recommendations?

I'm thinking of buying a new flat screen TV for my bedroom next year. I'm considering buying a television 40 or 42 inches. Do not really have a choice of 720p or 1080p. I'm thinking of buying something with a price range of $ 600 – $ 900. I've done some research and does not really matter if the TV is plasma or LCD, but do you have any suggestions? Any suggestions on brands? No matter hertz? Any place that could get a good deal? Thanks for all and help everyone!
