How stereoscopic 3D films released to the public?

I'm looking for a home theater with a projector, but I'm excited with the prospect of stereoscopic 3D movies at home. "3D Systems is based on the player or screen? I anticipate buying a player capable 3d blu-ray or a projector capable 3d?

A number of companies have said they will be in 3-D TV for Christmas, but refuse to admit (publicly) how these sets going to work.
