Creating 3D pics/videos viewable with RealD 3D glasses on home computer: Is it possible?

I know that it is possible (and quite simple) to produce 3D anaglyphs that require the use of red/cyan glasses. But these methods often produce grey-scale images rather than true colour.

Is it possible to use Photoshop/After Effects/etc to produce the full colour 3D images as seen in the cinemas?…preferably by using the RealD glasses used in the cinema? I understand that this technology relies on seperate polarised light sources, that may mean it is currently not possible to do at home.

Thanks for any and all answers I receive. I would love to get clarification on this.

realD: no.
cinemas can because they alternatively swap two polarizing filters over the projector 120 times per second. the filters cause the light to only go through one of the glasses lens at a time..
this kind of technology is not really publicly available

if you have a high-definition screen (120+hz refresh), then you can get equipment to use active shutter glasses (not cheap)

you could also try something like this :

never tried a 3d image, but obviously it’s possible. just keep in mind that it’s really two separate images, each viewed by a separate eye and stitched together produce the 3d effect
