Why LG 37 "does not turn off my TV?

when you turn off just going to standby only goes completely off if I turn it off in the plug, does anyone have this TV having the same problem that tells you not to leave the TV on standby. i shut with the button as I do on my sony 50 "is directly outside

All LCD and plasma TV `s not this.I use a gang plug with separate switches so I can turn the TV while recording another as if I'm not watching or recording i make everything in the main switch.
