An Introduction to 3D TV
There are a lot of rumors at the time the television industry and the press at the exhibitions on technology 3D television. Manufacturers are watching TV in 3D as a way to strengthen weak sales, which have been hit by the global recession. 2010 is being touted as the year that 3D TV really starts to gain insight into the market procedure.
At CES 2010 (the Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, all TV manufacturers showed their new 3D experience. Sony, Toshiba, Samsung, LG and Panasonic all have 3D TVs in the display to show visitors. These companies are serious about 3D, and have committed billions of pounds for their development.
With a staggering 3,400,000 3D TVs expected to be sold in the U.S. this year, this is an area that manufacturers are taking it very seriously, and waiting to lift depressed sales. Sony and Panasonic TV businesses are losing money and businesses are pinning their hopes on TV in 3D in a big way.
But who will buy these new sets, and just about industry professionals that are mobilized behind this new technology?
What is 3D TV?
3D TV uses the same technology that can be experienced in the recent movies to show images high-quality pop-up screen. More than a simple trick, 3D images are clear and have a real depth of field. 3D is having an effect astronomical in consumer spending in the film, and at least 20 other 3D movies to be released in 2010.
The viewer wears glasses that open special electronic and close a shutter in each eye, showing a slightly different image to the left and right eye. This creates a 3D effect. The glasses connect to the TV in the shipment through infrared link, and the batteries are rechargeable.
What you need for 3D TV
Unfortunately for any person who just bought a new TV, you can not get 3D television was a regular. The TV must be 3D-ready TV. You also need a player Blu-ray or a subsequent 3DTV decoders, allowing users to watch Sky and other channels in 3D.

Why can 3DTV fail
Price – 3D TV will not come cheap. Manufacturers are putting new 3DTVs price above the price of a high-end TV. No going to be cheap to make 3D TV at home. With the world still smarting from the depths of a recession, consumers willing to spend on a new series? With 1 in 4 respondents said they intended to buy a 3D TV in the next 3 years, it seems that some people are willing to make the investment.
The glasses – while some people are excited about the arrival of 3D television, there is an equally strong reaction from some who do not want to sit in your living room wearing sunglasses. Turning to prices, the glasses are electronic and will not be cheap.
Reduce absorption – usually takes several years for a technology to really penetrate everyday life. With many consumers happy with recent purchases of flat screen televisions, it may be some time before that are ready to upgrade. David Kempner, buyer vision John Lewis said he expects the process to be a 'Slowburn.
Consumers could have headaches – A recent study by the University of California, Berkeley, found that 3D TV could give you headaches. There is also a large amount of material Anecdotal information suggests that some people are suffering from headaches while using this new technology.
When will 3D TV?
March 2010 saw James Cameron, along with the Black Eye Peas, launch a range of 3D TVs in Times Square.
So when all the world can get their hands on a set in 3D? The easy answer is – probably by the time you read this, 3D TVs hit the UK in late March 2010. Retailers are preparing for the onslaught of orders for 3D games and the initial packages include 46 "and 55" models, with 2 pairs of 3D glasses included.
